Hot Flashes
08/12/2007
So, you have probably felt a little or a lot hot when you least expect it right? Don’t let these hot flashes upset your day. If you seem to be bothered by them more in the afternoon, then why not substitute a cool glass of water or lemonade for a hot cup of tea or coffee. If you are bothered by the hot flashes and they interrupt your sleep, why not sleep with a fan turned on even in the winter months, and even in conjuction with air conditioning in the warmer months. Aim the fan at your face and cool off instantly. Sometimes I dampen a facecloth with cold water and put on my neck, it keeps my face cool and seems to keep hot flashes from occurring so much. This can help me sleep. Just some home made advice that helps me and may help you too.
Sleeping has been easier for me since I bought some cotton sleepwear. What did I discover but the softness and coolness and airyness of a Scrub Top. They are inexpensive and effective. “Sweetdreams!”
During the day, you might also think about keeping a little pouch of dry papertowels in your purse. If you are noticeably hot when out and about, just pour some cold water from your waterbottle on the papertowels and blot your face with it. In the evening, I feel that the heat from hot flashes will help me sleep. Usually I try to go to bed and wake at about the same time everyday, this steady sleep pattern helps me fight off insomnia issues most of the time. Share your ideas if you desire.
