Have you experienced any one saying “I just had a brain freeze?” If so, then you kind of suspect they are having a forgetful moment, or “senior moment.” So, to help combat these moments of forgetfulness, one thing I try is a remembering game.

This is what I do: I wake up and think about my day. I do not make a list right now, but take that mental list into the shower with me, dress and make my breakfast. When I get to the car, I try to remember what I was thinking about. Usually I try and remember 3 to 5 things, then I jot them down in the car. You can try and remember more things as time goes on. It’s true, if you try and concentrate you can do it. If you are having a low concentration day, this may not be a good day to try and remember, in this case use paper and pencil, no need to stress out. Try the remembering game as often as you can after all your brain needs you to pitch in too. Don’t quit, you can do it.

Try some brain teasers at your local book store or the The New York Times Easy to Tough Crossword Puzzles.

If you’ve got losts of time and really want to stretch your brain power get the Harry Potter Paperback Box Set and read for enjoyment.

Set aside a time to read like 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on a weekend day then in the evening or one or the other. It will be very nice to have this time all to yourself and you will be helping your brain power.
