Do you feel a little vulnerable these days?

I bet the wobbly imbalance and the occassional headaches and concentration issues have you thinking that you are a little vulnerable in the workplace, at home, visiting, you name it.

Today my oldest son showed me exercises to do and he said they would help me loose weight and get more self esteem, I guess he thinks I don’t have self esteem, I didn’t realize this, so here goes…

So, first he told me to limber up before starting and after too, if I wanted to. Limber Ex.Below
Limber Exercises are #1 thru #4. Do before and after or at least before or after for safety.

Exercise number 1
Bend at the waist but not at the knees and see how far you can reach to the floor for 15 sec.
Repeat after resting for 15 seconds

Exercise number 2
Cross your arms and hold tight over your shoulders for 15 seconds, rest and repeat

Exercise number 3
Lean on a wall and put one foot out and one foot back to feel a stretch, hold 15 sec. rest & repeat

Exercise number 4
Windmills with arms, big circles back and forward with each for ten times, rest, repeat

Exercise number 5 – Do #5,6,7 all 10 times and rest and repeat and on do ten times for 3 cycles
Using your 3 lb weight, hold one in each hand and lunge forward taking turns with foot out front
Practically any store will sell weights, look them up on line first to make sure and save a trip

Exercise number 6 – regulate your home gym accordingly start on an easy one, use leg press
Start with one weight and go to heavier ones, next week, work slow to begin with. Do not overexert

Exercise number 7 – Arm pull down weights, start with a small weight and gradually increase to a
comfortable level, do not go too fast with weight add on. Weights are generic, not all have to be
used on you.

Exercise 8 – Treadmill* – 15 minutes today, 20 minutes next week or keep at 15 minutes
Get your tv to your exercise room or a boom box and play your favorite tunes, while you wind down and sing or repeat healthy phrases. With out a boom box I usually just say “Kindness Matters” and repeat it and let my mind relax. I read a few years ago that researchers at Duke University suggested that you say a phrase when exercising and it helps you during your exercise.

Exercise 9 – Treadmill alternative* – walk briskly for 20 minutes in your neighborhood, or create a walking routine in your house or at the mall.

Exercise 10 – Smile
Take a breath, be prepared for some aches and pains and do it all over again the next day or every other day. It’s going to help your self esteem and you will get free energy, the only thing it will cost you is your time. But what ever you do, the price is time, so start taking control of your own destiny today.
Check with your physician as not to over exert. Discontinue if you over exerted or pulled a muscle.
