Menopause can be really wacky, or many will not know you are in it. One obvious thing is your period will stop and then after two years you will probably feel unbalanced. When this happens and you also think you need new eye glasses because you can’t concentrate as well, then you are here in menopause.

First you will want to tell yourself you are just going through menopause. You will want to read more. If it is on line reading such as your local newspaper or a national one in your country. Once you pay for the internet, why not read on line too.

Don’t do it for prolonged periods, as your eyes might be feeling wierd, but try and read while you are eating your bagel or cereal in the morning before reading your email. Once I skip to email I usually don’t come back to world news or local news.

In the meantime you will notice a big difference in your concentration if you are eating right. I know this because I never ate right. I was always a big snacker and sweet eater. But I have to turn my habit to eating nutritional.

Pick up some apples, oranges, pears, peaches, grapes and your other favorite fruits at the store. Keep them cold and have a snack at 3:00. Then you are eating right and you aren’t nibbling the wrong stuff before supper time.

After work or at lunch walk a mile or two or run one or two miles. Or before you leave for work. If it is raining or snowing or haling or nasty outside go to a mall on your way home from work or during the day and stretch your legs. If you can afford the $20.00 a month or more join a health club
so that weather won’t be an issue.

It’s time to start taking care of you.

Have you ever noticed older and young people jogging? I bet you have, it’s great heart health, so you should consider it too. It can be 50 jogs, then 100, but seek advice from your doctor if starting a regime and always do stretches before and after so you don’t break a bone.

I almost forgot, to tell you, you will want to lift 3 or 5 or 10 pounds. Get some weights at your department store or start with pasta cans. Start with smaller weights and get more weight in time.
I have a small gym set up in my home that I spend time doing pulls on. I started with 5, then 10, then 15 and then wait 2 minutes and repeat. Arm weights help your bones and muscles in this new phase of our lives to stay strong.

Have a yogurt with lunch a couple times a week and drink dairy too. It can’t hurt. I like to eat cheese and wheat crackers for a treat too. And it’s healthy.

Save your sanity, start eating right and exercising if you haven’t already implemented it.

Join www.meetup.com if you want someone to walk with.
Or get a tape or cd or ipod and go it alone. Sometimes it’s faster not to have to wait for someone.

Be creative but do it, it’s for you.

You can save lots of money by being healthy too!
